As the Coronavirus spreads across the length and breadth of India, dozens of celebrities are coming forward to donate money and make a major difference during the COVID-19 pandemic. The latest celebrity couple who has decided to do their part is Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.
Ranveer and Deepika have pledged their contribution to the PM-CARES Funds. The much-loved couple announced their decision on social media platforms without disclosing the amount they have donated.
“In times like these, every bit counts. We humbly pledge to contribute to the PM-CARES Funds, and hope that you will too. We are all in this together, and we shall overcome. Jai Hind,” wrote Deepika and Ranveer.
The celebrity couple are among some of the biggest names who have lent their helping hands to protect the people in these challenging times. Their contribution will go towards food banks, protective equipment for frontline health workers, etc.
Before Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas and more have also made whopping donations towards the Coronavirus relief work.
On the work front, Ranveer and Deepika are awaiting the release of their hugely anticipated movie ‘83. The sports drama was initially slated to arrive in cinemas on 10th April, 2020. However, the makers had to defer its release date in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak. The new release date is yet to be finalized.
For the uninitiated, ‘83 chronicles Indian cricket team’s unprecedented win against West Indies in the 1893 World Cup tournament. The sports drama has been directed by well-known Bollywood director Kabir Khan.
