My top 10 wardrobe essentials – Vardah Aziz

Eastern EyeBy: Eastern Eye

WINTER is coming, but top brands are already unveiling their Spring/ Summer collections and forward-thinking fashionistas are a step ahead.

Others are dreaming of getaways to hot climates, and some are enjoying the last semblance of warmer days.

Rising Pakistani star Vardah Aziz is still basking in the glow of hot days and decided to reveal her top 10 essentials, along with some great fashion tips. They are timeless pieces and can be incorporated into everyday style when needed.

The Ms Marvel actress said: “When it comes to my everyday style, I make sure that my wardrobe is sorted with pieces that are versatile and never go out of style. I hate
prepping hours before I have to go somewhere, especially when most of the time goes into deciding what to wear. It took me a while, but I’ve finally realised that I don’t need to spend money on things that I might only wear once. I would much rather spend my money on quality pieces that I can mix and match to create as many looks as I can. I’ve listed down my top 10 for anyone who’s in the same head space as mine.”

White T-shirt/button down shirt: As boring as this sounds, this is my top item. There’s so much you can do with a white t-shirt or a button down. You can dress up with denim and pair it up with neutral, or colour-block heels. Or dress down with sneakers or flats as the occasion requires. I always size up for these though. It’s trendy yet breathable for summers. You can never go wrong with this staple piece.

Classic flats: You can rock a pair of your classic flats with almost everything. I wear mine with my tan Hermes Orans under pants or even long summer dresses. As long as they are a neutral colour such as tan, white or beige, you can pair them up with so many things and also avoid sweaty feet.

Tote bag: If you know me, you’d know I’m a huge carry-all tote girl. I always have so much to carry around with me and struggle if I have restricted space. A good quality tote in a neutral colour will go a long way and match all your outfits. It will also fit in all your everyday essentials if you know you’ll be out a long day. It can hold even a water bottle to keep yourself hydrated or be a part of your airport look. I go with my Louis Vuitton Never-full MM everywhere and I haven’t regretted the purchase once in my life.

Black sunglasses: You can absolutely not go out on a bright beautiful day without a pair of
sunglasses. I prefer timeless pieces and a black pair of sunnies will match your neutral-coloured summer capsule wardrobe, and you’ll save yourself from wasting time in front of the mirror trying multiple shapes and colours. You can never go wrong with Ray-Bans but again, see what suits your face more.

Loose denims: See what suits your body type more but I feel a nice straight, boyfriend, mom fit should definitely be a part of your wardrobe. I love my Levis 501s for that matter. Airy, high waisted for tucked in looks, and they go well with everything. I have a pair of both distressed and normal. I have worn them, both casually and formally, multiple times.

Viscose-blend trousers: I can swear by black straight trousers. They are great for meetings where you can be comfortable in summers but also a bit dressy for the occasion. Pair them with blouses or button downs in any colour and go for a tucked in look and you are ready.

White sneakers: You can wear your white sneakers with anything, and they’ll look great. Long/short dress, jeans, overalls, you name it. I sometimes choose styles with some colour along with the white – like the Onitsuka Tigers with blue or yellow stripes or Converse Comme des Garcons with its famous red heart, but I love my all-white sneakers just the same.

Crossbody bag: I love a splash of colour. So, if you’d rather carry a medium-sized bag than a tote and need something for your neutral wardrobe, you must get a bright-coloured crossbody and let the colour speak for itself.

Long summer dress: Linen or cotton, you can never go wrong with a long beige or navy dress for summers. Wear it loose or cinch the waist with a belt for a trendy look and you don’t need anything else.

Espadrilles: You can’t always be in your flats or sneakers and that’s where you must choose to wear espadrilles in summers. The jute around the sole is what makes the outfit look so much breezier yet sophisticated. It’s breathable, lightweight, and trendy, what else do you need?
