After the Tricolour atop the Indian High Commission in London was grabbed and taken down by a mob and the building’s windows were broken by a group of protesters waving separatist Khalistani flags and chanting pro-Khalistani slogans in London on Sunday (19), authorities arrested a man on suspicion of violent disorder
Around 1.50 pm on Sunday (19) Metropolitan Police officers were summoned to the building in Aldwych, Westminster, where two security guards had received minor wounds.

Social media videos showed a guy removing the Indian flag from the building’s first-floor balcony as a group of people below waved yellow “Khalistan” flags to pretend to support him. They are believed to be a part of a separatist Sikh organisation that wants to find a new homeland or breakaway state.

An investigation into the incident has been launched by The Met. According to a spokeswoman, windows at the high commission headquarters were shattered and two members of the security team were hurt. However, the injuries are reportedly minimal, and no hospital care was necessary.

The Metropolitan Police statement said, “Officers attended the location. The majority of those present had dispersed prior to the arrival of police. An investigation was launched, and one male was arrested nearby a short time later, on suspicion of violent disorder. Inquiries continue”.
