INDIA on Monday (28) successfully test-fired Agni Prime missile from a defence base off Odisha coast, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) said in a statement.

Agni Prime is a new generation surface-to-surface ballistic missile, having a range of 1000 to 2000 km.

It was test-fired from a mobile launcher off the Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha at 10.55 am, DRDO said.

Its trajectory was monitored by sophisticated tracking radars along the coast line.

The nuclear-capable missile has been designed and developed by the DRDO.
