Anya Chalotra to lead ‘Cold War’ musical at the Almeida

Actress Anya Chalotra, who shot to fame with her role in the successful Netflix fantasy series The Witcher, has signed on to headline an exciting project.

She is set to play one of the leads in the new musical Cold War, which will open at the Almeida this autumn.

Joining her on the impressive cast of Conor McPherson’s piece will be Luke Thallon as Zula and Wiktor respectively. Elliot Levey is also set to appear as Cabaret.

Talking about the creative team, it will feature Simon Hale as the music supervisor, orchestrator, and arranger. Ellen Kane is onboard to choreograph the piece.

Jon Bausor is attached as the set designer; Evie Gurney as the costume designer; Paule Constable as the lighting designer; Sinéad Diskin as the sound designer; and Jo Cichonska as the musical director.

Amy Ball CDG is handling the casting.

Cold War will play at the venue from 30 November 2023, with tickets on general sale on 3 October 2023.

The 24-year-old Anya Chalotra is a British-Indian actress who began her television career with Netflix’s British drama series Wanderlust in 2018, where she portrayed the role of Jennifer Ashman. The same year she starred alongside John Malkovich, as Lily Marbury in BBC’s thriller series The ABC Murders.
